Her birthday was yesterday.
She was born in Boston and moved to Syracuse, NY as a child. According to one source, she now lives in Aurora, Ohio.
To my surprise, there's a sequel to "Ghosts Who Went to School"!
On the back cover of GWWTS:
"One day, Mrs. Hartley gets a new pupil. From the moment Wilbur the ghost floats through the door, things begin to happen. Wilbur doesn't mean to make trouble, but suddenly books rise in the air, pencils write by themselves, and mysterious voices answer the teacher. Wilbur can't understand why anyone's upset. He just loves going to school.
P.S. Wilbur is very good in arithmetic, but he needs help in spelling."
There are three different cover illustrations - the hardcover version shows Wilbur Temple entering the class for the first time. Both that and the paperback cover are drawn by Marvin Glass. The third, from the 1980s, is in color, by a different illustrator. The publisher for that edition is Apple.

What I like about it is the semi-casual way some of the adults grow used to the idea of ghosts and even talk to them - and at the same time, not every child accepts the idea! For the 1960s, I'm guessing that was something of a literary breakthrough. Not to mention that the adults are not portrayed as clueless.
And the reviews at you-know-where are very complimentary, too.
