I can find no sign at all elsewhere of J. J. Sweete, and the misused word in the eight-word quote hardly helps their reputation as an editor.

Also, the story appears truncated--having access to the full text would help in judging its "greatness." The writing of what's given does appear skillful, however.

I guess I should have realized that the author, Mr. Iacovelli, wants to sell his book and make money from it. Giving his fiction away for free won't do that. Would Ramsey Campbell want to make his fiction available at no charge? I don't think so--I assume he's trying to make a living from it. Nothing wrong with that, however.
