I'll be reading and talking at Linghams Booksellers in Heswall on Friday 11 October. Tickets can be had only from the bookshop, but you can phone on 0151 342 7290 and reserve them. If you plan to be there, do book now! I'll be reading a new ghost story of mine.

I discovered it's near a town called Birkenhead, and if I could teleport there, I might consider attending--if I could sneak in without paying, of course.

It's very near the site of Arthur Pendemon's house.

Is this a reference to something Lovecraftian? I don't "get" it. Please enlighten me.

Pendemon was a nineteenth-century occultist who apparently perished in a duel with another one, Peter Grace.
